     Here we have three songs from some high dudes out of Springfield, MO. Incorporating a little Skrumz, a little Post-Something, a bit of Lo-Fi fuzz and a lot of reefer madness, these songs travel a well worn path that never grows stale. The vocals are buried under a mountain of instrumentation yet still audible enough to add that welcome feeling of chaotic, cathartic recklessness to the songs. I bet these green lanterns could really tear apart a living room with their Lync meets Army Of Ponch meets Bonehouse amalgam. Good job, gentlemen!! I can't wait to hear more. Also, come to Seattle, I want to smoke you out!!!

I have been super stoked on this band since I heard their 2011 demo which I wrote about here. I am feeling pretty tired after a full weekend of birthday shows, so, just go read that review for all the where from's and R.I.Y.L's. If you know me at all, or you have been keeping up with this blog for awhile, you know how much of a sucker I am for the sounds of late 80's/early 90's Emo and Screamo. Bonehouse completely encapsulate that feeling and the memory of backpacks in the pit, thick-rimmed glasses and argyle sweaters. That super elevated feeling we all felt when None Left Standing would decimate the room at the New Loft in Madison. Or, seeing Shotmaker and Christie Front Drive in Chicago in like, 1995 or so... Damn, I feel old. I guess it stands to reason. Today is my 35th birthday. I don't think the guys in Bonehouse are as old as me, but, what does it matter? They are creating sounds that draw inspiration from the greatest bands that ever existed and they are doing it so well. I will forever love a band that can write songs like this. I really hate it when people my age say things like "Emo died with the 90's." That is bullshit and I won't stand for it. There are so many young bands playing these days that really care about keeping D.I.Y. and Emotional Hardcore alive. Bonehouse are one of them. REVOLUTION SUMMER FOREVER!!!!!

Bonehouse are from Scotland and were born from the ashes of Archives and The Fall Of Boss Koala. This is beautifully executed Emo/Post-Hardcore from a gaggle of U.K. scene veterans. I am completely digging this right now and remembering the feeling of hearing bands like Bob Tilton and Still Life for the first time all those years ago. These songs are definitely not a full-blown screamy cacophony like you might expect given the members histories. Though they do reach that fevered pitch at times on these recordings, this band has more in common with Fugazi, Embrace and Washington D.C.'s Revolution Summer than Reversal Of Man's 'Revolution Summer' 10". I hear influence from the likes of Sinaloa, Daniel Striped Tiger and as the band mentions, The Appleseed Cast and Life At These Speeds. This is an amazing demo and I am waiting with bated breath for what these fellas give us next.
