It is such a wonderful feeling to know there are old dudes still heavily involved in the creation of awe-inspiring Emotional Hardcore. I totally feel better about being 34 and still being a part of this wonderful community. Anyway, Regents features guys from some of the greatest Hardcore bands of the 90's. Maximillian Colby, Frodus, CombatWoundedVeteran, Sleepytime Trio, the Exploder. What else do I have to say? This 7" sounds as one would expect from a pedigree such as this. Very tight, very heavy, very grooving. The songs tend to stay around the two minute mark, yet in that time, this band does some very wonderful things. Hints of Post-Punk guitar here and there. Some straight ahead Hardcore sounds seep through as well. Though, most of that is overshadowed by the raging, bass heavy Screamo. I really don't think I need to try to sell anyone on this. If you are at all familiar with the members past endeavors, you will more than likely already be aware of the greatness of Regents. Lovitt Records has returned in fine form with the release of this little slab of vinyl. I just hope they can deliver us a full length sooner than later.
