I just discovered this band from Boston thanks to my buddy Charlie. Pile are a four piece that mill around in the same sonic territory that Shellac, Jesus Lizard and Mclusky spent their time in. They also play around with some Dub elements like Fugazi, which I think makes these songs sound very full and full of life. Brash yet beautiful, snotty without sounding childish and utterly complex without coming off as too hip for it's own good. They are on tour right now. Go out and support them if you get the chance. I hope they make it to Seattle someday.
